Demon slayer Hashira training movie box office collection

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has once again set foot in the theatres as the franchise kicks off its special world tour with the first screening of the highly anticipated “Hashira Training” movie taking place in Japan. The film opened in nationwide theatres on February 2 and to no one’s surprise, hit the $1M mark on its opening day.

Titled “Demon Slayer – To the Hashira Training”, it is the third feature film of the anime franchise. The movie acts as a compilation film of the anime series, incorporating footage from the final episode of the third season and the one-hour first episode of “Hashira Training Arc” which is set to broadcast in the spring of this year.

The premiere screening took place in Japan as part of the World Tour and the film dominated the box-office nationwide. With almost 70,000 submissions, Demon Slayer Hashira Training movie opened at #1 at the box office by netting around US$1.3 million (192.88 million yen) on day one.

Although the numbers are still far behind its predecessor “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train” which grossed over 1.26 billion yen ($9.3 Million) on its first day and holds the record for the highest opening movie in Japan, it’s a great start for the film considering the tough competition at box-office by Mobile Suit Gundam’s new movie.

When Will Demon Slayer Hashira Training Movie Release In North America?

Aniplex of America, Crunchyroll, and Sony Pictures Entertainment will release the Demon Slayer Hashira Training movie in North American theaters, including IMAX and premium large formats (PLFs), starting February 23. The ticket window for the movie is also open now.

Starting February 21, fans outside Japan and North America will also be able to get a sneak peek at the upcoming Hashira Training Arc as worldwide theatrical release dates for each country have been announced and it’s available on the official website of the anime series.
