On Monday, the nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards were announced. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas stepped out to deliver the results to the audience.

Anime fans were eagerly waiting for this moment but things didn’t go well. As not a single anime made it to the Oscars 2021.

In the Animated Feature Film category, hopes were very high for Demon Slayer- Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train. Other than that, Lupin III: The First, Ride Your Wave and A Whisker Away were also in the race of consideration at the Oscars.

But, not a single one of them made it to the Academy Awards.

The nominees’ list was dominated by Disney & Pixar’s two movies, Soul and Onward. Other than these two, Over the Moon and Wolfwalkers, were also nominated for the Oscars 2021.

The same thing happened last year where 32 films were submitted for consideration including the anime movies. But, none of the nominations gone in the favour of anime fans.

Well, the 93rd Academy Awards is going to take place on the 25th of April after a long postponement of two months due to the COVID-19 crisis.
