10. Tatsumi Gets Revenge On Aria In ‘Akame Ga Kill’
Joining the Empire’s military was Tatsumi’s only wish so that he can earn enough money to help his impoverished village. To fulfill his dream, he embarked on this journey with his two friends, who somehow got separated from him on the way to the Empire. Luckily, Tatsumi met Princess Aria who gave him shelter, food, and warm clothes.
However, the ugly side of her kindness was revealed by the Night Raid who told him the fact that it was Aria’s family who tortured one of his childhood friends Sayo to death. Without a split second of delay, Tatsumi slashed Aria in two with just one swing of his sword. Later, he ended up joining the Night Raid the same night.
9. Kogami Goes Rogue Against Makishima in ‘Psycho-Pass’
Shogo Makishima is one hell of a criminally asymptomatic individual who doesn’t give a damn about his colleagues or coworkers. Killing is his passion and he did the same to Shinya Kogami’s partner, Mitsuru Sasayama. And, as soon as, Kogami finds out the person responsible for his friend’s death, he went rogue to get revenge.
Since Sibyl doesn’t recognize Makishima as a threat, Kogami begins questioning the law system. When they don’t help him avenge his partner’s death, Kogami faces off against the criminal mastermind Makishima in a long-awaited battle, where Kogami follows the trail of his blood to finally pull out a handgun and kill Makishima.
8. Naofumi’s Sweet Revenge In ‘Rising Of The Shield Hero’
When Naofumi was summoned to a parallel world, he was designated to serve as one of the Four Legendary Heroes, the Shield Hero. No one seemed to take his side on his arrival except the princess of the kingdom, Malty S Melromarc. But, soon, she showed her true colors and betrayed Naofumi by lying about him sexually assaulting her.
After this incident, he was disrespected very badly and everyone begin to hate Naofumi. With a raging storm of hurt and mistrust in his heart, Naofumi started his journey to become strong and prove himself innocent. In the end, Malty’s lies were exposed and she was entitled to the names like “Bitch” and “Slut” by Naofumi.
7. Keyaru Pays Back To Flare In ‘Redo of Healer’
Initially, Keyaru was a very kind and gentle boy with dreams. When he discovered that he was one of the Heroes who would save the world, he was very excited. However, as he didn’t belong to the kingdom, he was treated like an animal by Flare the Magic Hero. He was imprisoned, drugged, tortured, beaten, and raped by several people.
After years of torture at the hands of his “allies”, he manages to break free from the shackles and get the Philosopher’s Stone. He then uses the item to go back four years time to exact revenge against the people who tortured him. First, he makes Flare his sex slave and later on, punishes two of his guards (Bullet and Blade) as well.
6. Afro Kills Justice And Avenges His Father In ‘Afro Samurai’
The core plot of Afro Samurai is to hold the number one headband as it is considered to be the biggest honor a warrior can have. Afro’s father, Rokutaro was number one for quite a while until his old friend, Justice showed up to take the headband from him and the fight results in Rokutaro’s death.
This ignites the fire in Afro’s heart and he sets on his quest for revenge. In their final battle, Justice and Afro have an intensely close match and by the end of it, Afro executes his revenge by swiftly chopping Justice up. The wild journey of Afro and the final showdown make this scene one of the biggest acts of revenge in anime history.
5. Spike Gets His Revenge On Vicious In ‘Cowboy Bebop’
Even best friends can become rivals by just a spark of betrayal or love. The rivalry between former partners Spike and Vicious is something like that who were once close as brothers but turned into bitter enemies. The two were the perfect team while working for the Red Dragon Syndicate, but things changed when Julia entered the picture.
They both fall for the same woman who decided to leave them both. However, after Julia’s assassination, Spike finally confronts Vicious on his own turf in the grand finale of the series. Already critically wounded, Spike still manages to finish off Vicious with a shot to the chest, resulting in one of the most delightful acts of revenge in anime history.
4. Kaneki Shows His Hostility To Jason In ‘Tokyo Ghoul’
“What’s 1000 minus 7?” – Ever heard of this line? If not, then you need to watch Tokyo Ghoul right now! When Kaneki is captured by the Aogiri Tree, he is forced to endure cruel and unbearable torture by the hands of Yamori, alias Jason. As a result, he slowly starts losing his sanity. His only coping mechanism is when Jason forces him to count backward from 1000 by 7.
And just when it seems he can’t take anymore, suddenly Kaneki’s hair turns into white color and he breaks free from his chains. After enduring all the pain, he beats Jason ruthlessly until he eats Yamori’s kagune and leaves him on the floor. This fight can be labeled as the most satisfying acts of revenge in anime ever seen.
3. Shikamaru Destroys Hidan In ‘Naruto’
All members of the Akatsuki clan are immensely strong and Hidan is nothing less. In addition to his immortality, Hidan’s ability allows him to curse his opponents and use them as voodoo dolls. Using his voodoo curse, he kills Asuma, the leader of Team 10. After hearing the news of the death of his mentor, Shikamaru is devastated and vows revenge.
When they eventually face off, Shikamaru leads Hidan into a clever trap and then uses his shadow jutsu to wrap a series of explosive tags all over Hidan’s body. Shikamaru laughs as he flicks Asuma’s lighter towards him, blowing Hidan up into pieces and leaving his remains trapped under a pile of rubble.
2. Gon Beats Neferpitou To Death In ‘Hunter × Hunter’
Gon left his village with the ambition to become the best hunter in the world so that he can find his father. In his journey, he made many friends and met some influential people of which one was his pop’s friend, Kite. Gon spend some quality time with Kite until a Chimera Ant named Neferpitou attacked them and took Kite with her.
As Gon didn’t see Kite dying in front of him, he was still hopeful about the fact that he will be alive but after witnessing Kite’s unconscious body in Pitou’s chamber, he went berserk. Due to the massive boost in his Nen energy, Gon was able to absolutely demolish Pitou. He killed Pitou by smashing her head with multiple punches making it more of a one-sided slaughter.
1. Roy Mustang Eliminates Envy In ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’
Roy Mustang can be seen as the calmest and cool-minded person in Fullmetal Alchemist. For most of the series, he never loses his temper for a single instance until he found out that the Homonculi named Envy is solely responsible for the death of his closest friend, Maes Hughes.
Since then Envy strikes a strong chord of vengeance in Roy’s heart. When the two cross paths, an epic revenge fight breaks out and Roy doesn’t hold back. He eventually crushes Envy, humiliating it and diminishing it to its most basic form. When Envy realizes that Roy isn’t going to stop, it commits suicide by crushing its own stone.
