Attack On Titan started serializing in Kodansha’s monthly Bessatsu Shonen Magazine back in 2009. The series is about a young boy, Eren Yeager, who finds himself trapped inside certain walls protecting humanity from the human devouring Titans. He dreams of getting out of these walls and live a life full of freedom with his friends.

Later on, he reveals the past of 2000 years and the intention of the founder Ymir. He states that Ymir was waiting for someone who could free her from the pain of love and that person is Mikasa. But he didn’t clarify the reason behind this selection.

After a brief talk, Armin asks Eren why he did all these things, then in reply, Eren tells him the name of Mikasa. He admits that how much he loves her and he only wants to live just for Mikasa. This shows his true feelings towards Mikasa and his desire to be with her.

It was also revealed that Eren knew everything from the start and it was shocking when he said that he was the one who sent the titan of Dina Fritz to eat his mom.

In the next panel, Mikasa was shown, walking towards Armin, holding Eren’s head in her hands and they start crying over the death of Eren. The most important part happened here when it was revealed that the choice Eren made has wiped all the titan powers from the world freeing the Eldians from the Ymir’s curse.

All the Survey Corps members and Eldians turns into human again. Annie, Reiner and the others become emotional about the foolishness of Eren.

‘The Battle of Heaven and Earth’ has ended and the Paradis Island forms an army under the banner of the Jaeger Faction. They strengthen their military forces to stand strong against the forces on the other side of the ocean.

At last, Mikasa was shown once again seating beside the grave of Eren beneath a tree where it all started. Her dream to be with Eren didn’t happen and she wishes to see him again.

This was a very sentimental moment as it bundled up the story in a single frame. In the end, a bird was seen wrapping the scarf around Mikasa’s neck.

Attack On Titan Chapter 139 showed us a very heart-touching end that marked a deep impact on the reader’s mind. Eren’s self-sacrifice for the sake of Mikasa and his friends was the most memorable moment for fans. He came out as one of the best protagonists till now.

In brief, yes it is finished. Chapter 139 was the last addition to the manga series. So, there will be no new AOT manga chapters from the next month. The final volume 34 is yet to release and it is set to launch on June 9.

But, it is only the end for the manga series, not for the TV anime adaptation. Attack On Titan The Final Season Part 2 is scheduled to be released this winter. So, there is still a lot to happen in the show.
