Attack On Titan Vs One Piece: Both Fandoms At War Over IMDb Ratings

The war between the two fanbases is a general thing in the anime industry and people have gotten used to it over the past few years. But, things get worse when the heated discussion turns out to be a toxic battlefield between the two fandoms and this time the same thing happened in the clash between Attack On Titan Vs One Piece.

On January 9, Attack On Titan premiered its first episode of Season 4 Part 2 titled ‘Judgement’. The episode was a blockbuster as it crashed the Crunchyroll & other streaming servers as soon as it got released. But, someone didn’t like this fame of AOT and launched a campaign that was the beginning of all the hustle between the two fandoms.

A Twitter user @ONEPIECIE1 who self-proclaims to be a One Piece fan shared a tweet regarding the first episode of AOT which was quite critical in terms of the relation between both the fanbases. The tweet was in Arabic and it stated the following words:

“Despite the negligence of some individuals, the numbers are okay and the result is very satisfactory. This is the reward for every anime that thinks that it competes with One Piece.

What we used does not exceed 10% of our strength, and see for yourself the extent of our impact, the next is greater.”

In addition, with these harsh words towards Attack On Titan franchise, the user also shared some screenshots which clearly showed the exceeding amount of 1 star IMDb ratings on the first episode of AOT Season 4 Part 2. And, this was the very beginning of the toxic battle between two popular anime, Attack On Titan Vs One Piece.

After this, the fans of AOT took to IMDb and started giving 1-star reviews on the latest episode of One Piece (1005) which got user ratings of 6.1/10 on IMDb. Almost 43% of users voted 1 star out of the 2,600 votes cast on the 1005th episode of One Piece.

In response to it, the One Piece fans also did the same thing with the latest episode of AOT Season 4 titled ‘Sneak Attack’ and review bombed the episode by 1-star user ratings. However, only 12% votes were negative out of a total of 12,300 votes which didn’t impact its user ratings of 9.4/10 on IMDb.

But, the worst thing was the toxic comments of some random fans who filled the review section of both the franchises with disrespecting words towards the series. With a user rating of 1, some fans called One Piece trash, boring and unworthy of the fame it gets. Here are some of the critical reviews by fans:-

While on the other hand, a few fans called Attack On Titan mid, overrated and too dark for people to watch. Both, the fandoms were throwing negative comments at each other like child play. And, in this heated battle of Attack On Titan Vs One Piece, the fanbase of Demon Slayer & Boruto also got involved as some fans reached their review section as well.

However, we would appeal to every single fan of both the fandoms to stop this cycle of hatred and respect each of the shows rather than review bombing the series with negative comments. Stop sabotaging the perfect scores of a new episode by giving it a 1-star rating.

If you can’t respect the shows then at least think about the people behind these magnificent works. Show some respect towards the creators and the animators of the show who put their 100% to give you the best content possible. Still, such type of childish act coming from two well-established fandoms like One Piece and Attack On Titan is very shameful and disrespectful.

So, have some respect towards each other and spread love rather than toxic hatred. After all, we all are anime fans and we should enjoy every single show. You can have your opinion but, you can’t hate or disrespect any show without logic and facts.
