On Friday, the Shonen manga series Chainsaw Man by Tatsuki Fujimoto won The Harvey Awards 2021 for the best manga category by beating Junji Ito’s horror comic ‘Remina’ and Tatsuya Endo’s ‘Spy X Family’ in the nominee’s race.

On its official Twitter account, The Harvey Awards declared Chainsaw Man as the winner of best manga and congratulated Tatsuki Fujimoto for his outstanding work.

Here is the official announcement:

After hearing this exciting news, Fujimoto released a statement for the awards ceremony, stating:

Thank you for the insanely awesome award! It’s the best award of any awards that exist in America! I consider this crude manga of mine unbefitting of any award, but I plan to continue packing it full of all the things that I love.

If you ever happen to be handing out awards again, hit me up!

Thank you very much!

The Harvey Awards are one of the comic industry’s oldest and most prestigious awards that are celebrated every year to recognise outstanding achievements in different categories of comics. And like every year, the nominees are selected by the comic book professionals themselves.
