Fans Discover Berserk Reference In Popular Video Game ‘Elden Ring’
The newly released video game Elden Ring is considerably the best game fans ever experienced. It is shattering many records in the gaming industry and is also being praised by many critics for its sensational game experience. And, surprisingly, some fans have discovered Berserk reference in Elden Ring.
Last week, a user uploaded a short clip on YouTube with the title “Elden Ring: Possible Memorial To Miura/Berserk”. In the video, it can be seen that the playing character is approaching a memorial kind of place which was covered with giant swords. Check out the video below.
According to some fans, the place is in reference to the locations seen in the popular manga series, Berserk written & illustrated by Kentaro Miura. The location which is portrayed in the game and can be seen in the video as well is actually the ‘Hill of Swords’ and it is a memorial site within Berserk.
Moreover, the giant swords are also in reference to the Berserk protagonist Guts famously known sword ‘Dragonslayer’. And, in the Elden Ring game, the developers have tried to pay a tribute to the creator of the series, Kentaro Miura who passed away in May 2021.
One user commented on the video by saying, “We all know Elden Ring is just a whole Berserk reference after the war with Ganishka and Griffith, Miura our dear friend you will be missed and your superior writing and artistic behaviour.”
Another user wrote, “This is, without a doubt, a Berserk reference. For those that don’t know, the field of swords here is a reference to the Hill of Swords. The Hill of Swords is a memorial site within Berserk after something Terrible happens to Guts old crew.”
“Now, Guts didn’t die, but the author of Berserk did. So this is more of a memorial to him, Kentaro Miura, and an ode to a place within Berserk. RIP Miura, you will be missed. And thank you, Miyazaki, for giving us this incredible series”, he added.
But there is no certainty if it is really a memorial to Kentaro Miura as there’s nothing confirmed as of yet. Additionally, a user on social media stated that he has found 5 places like this in the game and it’s all over the world of Elden Ring.
So far the video has been viewed over 800,000 times and has been going viral on social media as well. The fans also shared the location of the possible memorial to Kentaro Miura in Elden Ring as well and those who are interested can find it next to Castle Morne.
Elden Ring is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game was made in collaboration with fantasy novelist George R. R. Martin, who provided material for the game’s setting. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation and Xbox on February 25, 2022. As of March 2, the game has sold more than 10 million units in total.
