Haikyuu One-Shot Release Date & Story Revealed! Will Introduce The Main Cast

Haruichi Furudate written & illustrated manga series “Haikyuu” is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its serialization this year. To commemorate the success of the series, the author has announced a new special Haikyuu one-shot which will feature all the stars from the original series.

As per the early reports related to the storyboard of the new one-shot, Haikyuu special chapter will be about the Nekoma captain, Tetsuro Kuroo. He will embark on a journey to reassemble all his old high school friends for a special match! The one-shot is comprised of a total of 19 pages and the story is described as below:

“Tetsuro Kuroo, who works in the Athletic Promotion Division of the Japan Volleyball Association, plans to organize a special match! He sets out to invite his old high school friends, who are now top players in the world…”

Haikyuu manga series started serialization on Feb 20, 2012, in the Weekly Shonen Jump (WSJ). This year, the series has completed the 10 years and to celebrate it the franchise has revealed a total of 10 major projects. Out of these 10, the makers have revealed only eight and the rest two will be revealed at a later date.

Haikyuu one-shot is one of the ten major projects written by the creator of the series itself. The special one-shot is scheduled to release in the Weekly Shonen Jump issue #21/22 which is set to publish on April 25th. You can read the released chapter from the official website of MangaPlus.
