For a decade, the franchise of Haikyuu is entertaining the fans with its enthusiastic storyline based on the sports of Volleyball. The series has made its impact on the anime and manga community by delivering top-notch content in the past ten years. But, how well do you know the franchise of Haikyuu? Haikyu!! is a popular sports manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. The story follows Shoyo Hinata, a boy determined to become a great volleyball player despite his small height. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020, with its 402 chapters collected in 45 volumes.

In 2014, Production I.G adapted Haikyu!! manga into an anime television series which aired from April 2014 to September 2014. The series was renewed for a second and third season in 2015 and 2016 respectively. The fourth season was split into two cours, the first cour of 13 episodes aired from January to April 2020, and the second cour of 12 episodes aired from October to December 2020.

Ever since having witnessed the “Little Giant” and his astonishing skills on the volleyball court, Shoyo Hinata has been bewitched by the dynamic nature of the sport. Even though he suffers a crushing defeat in his first and last tournament in middle school at the hands of his rival Tobio Kageyama, he longs to prove that his less-than-impressive height ceases to be a hindrance in the face of his sheer will and perseverance.

In order to do that Hinata joins Karasuno High School’s volleyball team, vowing revenge against Kageyama. However, Hinata’s conviction isn’t shaken until he learns that Tobio Kageyama – the prodigy who humiliated Hinata’s middle school volleyball team in a crushing defeat – is now his teammate.

To fulfill his desire of leaving a mark on the realm of volleyball, Hinata smooths out his differences with Kageyama and later on, the former rivals form a legendary combo in Team Karasuno having Hinata’s mobility and Kageyama’s precision ball-handling. Together, they take on the local tournaments and vow to meet Karasuno’s fated rival school in the Nationals.
