In Japan More Paper Is Used For Manga Than Toilet Paper

Published by Gintoki on

Anime & manga industry are the main source of income for the people of Japan and their most of the economy depends on this sector. And as a matter of fact, people of Japan use more paper for manga rather than toilet paper.

According to manga reports, more than 600 categories of manga are released each month. Last year, in 2020, the net value of the manga industry in Japan was more than 612 billion yen. That’s a record in itself.

After seeing this type of influence of manga on the Japanese community, some playful commentators estimated that the Japanese use more paper for the mini-sized manga than for toilet paper. It was just a funny comment from them, there is no official data related to it.

This statement is not a surprise and is true to some sort because almost every household in Japan is installed with modern bidet toilets that don’t require any use of paper.
