Japanese Fans Pick Manga They Want To See Animated In 2024
The humongous catalog of anime available is already enough to cater to fans for several years, but fans always yearn for more shows to be adapted onto screens. Even before 2024 has reached its halfway point, fans have already expressed their wishes for the manga they hope to see turned into anime by the end of this year.
At AnimeJapan 2024, the organizers of the exhibition took a survey where they asked attendees to vote for their favorite title to be animated. After more than 100,000 votes were cast, a top ten list was picked which shows the interest of the people in the manga they want to see brought to life on the screens.
Kadokawa’s slice-of-life manga Shinanonchi no Ikuru leads the chart despite not having any English translations at present. Shonen Jump’s hottest manga at the moment, Kagurabachi earned a spot in the list as well, coming seventh on the poll results. The “Top 10 Manga Fans Want To See Animated” are as follows –

#10 Psyren
Other than Kagurabachi, fans have shown a keen interest in the adaptations of hit titles such as Kindergarten Wars and Psyren. Notably, more than 50 works were considered for the poll, with fans from both Japan and overseas participating in the voting process of “manga they want to see animated”.
The industry veterans take this survey seriously, and given the previous poll results, it is highly likely that half of the manga titles listed in the survey will be adapted into anime shortly. With many exciting anime titles slated to release this year, the inclusion of these manga adaptations will further increase the anticipation of fans.
