Jujutsu Kaisen Game Sets Record for Most Refunds in Short Time
Jujutsu Kaisen has been the most successful media franchise, making it one of the biggest IPs in the Japanese industry. There is no doubt, the series is acknowledged worldwide and its anime is amongst the most-watched TV shows across the globe. Yet, the franchise failed miserably to imitate the success of the series in its game adaptation.
In February 2024, Bandai Namco released their newest fighting game titled “Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash”, sending a wave of excitement among the fans of the manga and anime series. Upon the launch, thousands of geeks purchased the digital edition only to return it later after experiencing horrible gameplay.
According to @meech_scales on Tiktok, over 100,000 users have claimed a refund for the Jujutsu Kaisen game in a span of only four days. With this, “Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash” has registered an unwanted world record for the most refunds in the shortest period.
It surpassed the previous record holder “No Man’s Sky” which took three months to reach the hundred thousand refunds mark after the game’s release. The Jujutsu Kaisen game has also received a low review score from Steam users with many commenting on its controls and below-average game design.
A reviewer commented, “Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash feels like nothing more than a soulless cash grab that likely exists only to fleece money from unsuspecting fans of the series”. Seeing the low effort put into the game development, it sounds true considering the price tag of $60 for the standard edition of the game.
Anyway, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is a 2 vs. 2 action fighting game that allows players to assemble a team of two characters from the anime to engage in intense battles. The game offers various character combinations with unique synergies and power dynamics, resulting in a wide array of tag-team attacks and explosive combos.
Jujutsu Kaisen game includes a roster of over 15 playable characters and has both PvE and PvP, giving players some freedom of choice. By completing battles, players can master “cursed techniques” to enhance each fighter’s power level, unlocking more potent attacks as they make progress. It’s available now on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
