Netflix Avatar Beats One Piece Live Action In Global Viewership
Netflix’s latest live-action adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon cartoon, “Avatar: The Last Airbender”, is winning hearts all over the globe. The dramatic reimagining of Aang’s journey has received critical acclaim from the fans, making it much more successful than the 2023’s hit TV adaptation of “One Piece”.
According to the weekly top 10 lists of the most-watched TV and films on Netflix, “Avatar: The Last Airbender” ranked #1 in 70 countries with a viewership count of 21.2 million in only four days. Following its debut, the series has amassed an all-time high audience engagement and has soared to the top 10 in 92 countries.
In comparison to Netflix’s 2023 chartbuster “One Piece”, Avatar: The Last Airbender has performed much better with a 15% viewership increase from the One Piece live-action premiere. While Avatar got viewed over 153 million hours, One Piece amassed around 140 million watch hours in its debut week.
Besides, Avatar: The Last Airbender also attained the number one position in a higher amount of countries as compared to One Piece following the premiere on Netflix. The former reached #1 in 70 countries while the latter topped the charts only in 46 countries upon its worldwide premiere on the streaming platform.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is currently the “Most Popular TV Show Worldwide” and is also ranked number one on Rotten Tomatoes. Starring Gordon Cormier (as Aang), Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley (as Katara), and Dallas Liu (as Zuko), all eight episodes of the live-action series are currently streaming exclusively on Netflix.
