Netflix’s Thrilling Show ‘All Of Us Are Dead’ Is Based On A Popular Webtoon
Netflix’s newly released zombie apocalypse horror television series, All Of Us Are Dead is a modern masterpiece of its genre as in just two days of its release the show has topped the worldwide chart of the popular TV show. And, surprisingly enough the thrilling story of the show is lifted from a popular Webtoon of the 2010s.
All Of Us Are Dead is based on a popular webtoon ‘Now at Our School’ written & illustrated by Joo Dong-geun. The series was published on the Naver Webtoon platform between 2009 and 2011. It consists of around 130+ chapters and was praised heavily for its intense storyline.
Later, the webtoon received a manga adaptation as well however, both the manga & webtoon versions are restricted for the readers under the age of 18. And, it’s only available in the Korean language which is also quite difficult to get hands-on due to regional restrictions.
On April 12, 2020, Netflix acquired the rights to make a series out of this webtoon and released a press statement confirming that JTBC Studios and Film Monster would produce a series titled ‘All Of Us Are Dead’ inspired from the Naver Webtoon’s famously known series.
And, now with the release of the series on Netflix, it’s breaking records and is gaining fame at a tremendous rate. After a hugely successful ‘Squid Game’, All of Us Are Dead is the second Korean show that topped the Netflix TV shows worldwide chart in just a few days.
All of Us Are Dead is a South Korean coming-of-age zombie apocalypse horror TV show starring Yoon Chan-young, Park Ji-hoo, Cho Yi-hyun, Park Solomon and Yoo In-soo. The series was premiered on Netflix on January 28, 2022.
The show is about a deadly virus that spreads in the city of Hyosan, South Korea leading to a series of zombie outbreaks all over the city. After being surrounded by such circumstances, a high school in Hyosan get caught in this outbreak and a situation of chaos builds up amid the students which turn into zombies one by one.
Afterwards, a tense battle between students turned into zombie corpses and struggling survivors begins to survive this lethal virus. They try to find a way out with no food, water and internet during the incident. Their only option is to protect themselves from the zombie corpses using objects & equipment present in the school.
