One Piece Anime Remake By WIT Studio & Netflix Announced
Eiichiro Oda’s timeless masterpiece, One Piece has been reigning the world of anime for over two decades. With over 1000 episodes and more to come, the producers have come up with a new project that’s equally exciting and shocking. A One Piece remake is announced to be in the works while the main anime series is still ongoing.
During the JUMP Festa 2024 stage, the production committee of One Piece unveiled the plans for the upcoming year. The big piece of news was an anime remake of One Piece which is confirmed to be produced in collaboration with Studio WIT (known for “Attack on Titan” and “Spy × Family”) and Netflix.
As of writing this article, there’s no further information about the release date of the One Piece remake and its cast. However, Netflix confirms that the new project will recreate the original story starting from the East Blue arc. More information about the series will be revealed at a later date.
The makers also revealed details about the upcoming Egghead arc in the mainstream anime series. The upcoming story arc will receive new theme songs, opening ‘Aaah!’ by Hiroshi Kitadani and ending ‘Dear Sunrise’ by Maki Otsuki. For your information, the Egghead arc is scheduled to begin airing on January 7th, 2024.
