The 15th feature film of the One Piece franchise, “One Piece Film: RED” was released in Japanese theatres on August 6th. After a grand opening in Japan, the movie started trending worldwide and fans from all over the world are desperately waiting to see Red Hair pirates in action especially Shanks past and, luckily Indian fans will be delighted to hear this news as One Piece Film Red release date in India has been decided.

The good piece of news for One Piece fans residing in India came through Mumbai where PVR Cinemas placed standees across multiple theatres revealing that One Piece Film Red will release in India in October 2022. The exact date of release is still not confirmed but it will be shared at a future date.

The distributors hinted already about this revelation a few days ago and now this surprise was what fans were waiting for a long time. Previously, Odex as well announced that they will distribute the film in Singapore and India as well. As of now, the movie is only playing in Japanese theatres however, soon it will be released in other countries.

The streaming services, Crunchyroll and Funimation will release the film in United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in the Fall window. In Taiwan, the film will release theatrically on August 19th meanwhile, in Philippines, the is scheduled for September 17th. Anime Limited will distribute the film in U.K and Ireland in Fall 2022.

On August 6th, the film was released theatrically in Japan. The movie performed extremely well at the ticket counter and became a hit on its opening day. On its first day, the film earned an estimated 1.25 Billion Yen (around $9.42 Million) making it the second highest opening movie in Japan right behind “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train”.

What One Piece Film Red Is About?

Produced by Toei Animation, this is the 15th feature film of Eiichiro Oda’s long-running manga series, One Piece series. Oda himself supervised the film with Goro Taniguchi working as the director and Kuroiwa Tsutomu handling the script. The film is set on the “Island of Music” Elegia, where Uta, the world’s greatest diva, holds her first ever live concert and reveals herself to the public.

The Straw Hats, pirates, Marines, and fans from across the world gather to enjoy Uta’s voice, which has been described as “otherworldly”. However, the event begins with the shocking revelation that Uta is the daughter of Shanks. This leads to a series of interesting events that involves a dynamic duel between Red Hair pirates and Marines.

The film also features some of the well-known faces from the series which include the Red Hair Pirates, Luffy’s crew, Fujitora, Kizaru, Roger pirates, and many more. Besides the heroes, a new character named Gordon is making his debut in the series as the major antagonist of the film. Law, Bartolomeo, and Katakuri have also made appearances in One Piece Film Red.

One Piece Film Red is full of memorable moments (like Luffy’s Gear 5 and Shanks Conqueror’s Haki) which indicates that as a fan of this series, you’ll not be disappointed at all after witnessing the film. As of now, the film is performing remarkably in the Japanese theatres and soon it will be available to watch in your region as well.
