One Punch Man Live-Action Movie By ‘Fast & Furious’ Director Confirmed
The number of live-action anime is significantly increasing these days and in a run for it another popular series, One Punch Man is confirmed to be adapted into a live-action film. Saitama is all set to make the big screen debut with One Punch live-action movie that will be directed by Justin Lin, who’s best known for directing several movies in the Fast and Furious franchise.
According to reports, the superhero-themed anime series One Punch Man is finally receiving its own live-action film at the hands of Sony Pictures. Justin Lee is set to direct the movie meanwhile, Scott Rosenberg & Jeff Pinkner, who teamed on Jumanji: The Next Level and Venom, are set to write the live-action film adaptation of the worldwide hit manga series.
Avi and Ari Arad of Arad Productions (Spider-Man film series, Iron Man, X-Men film series, Venom) and Lin are co-producing the film. Lin stated that he will work with the writers with the intention to begin production by year’s end. Sony Pictures has acquired film rights from Shueisha.
Action-comedy anime series One Punch Man made its anime debut in 2015 at the hands of Studio Madhouse. A second season produced by J.C. Staff premiered in 2019 however, it faced quite middling reviews. A third season is also rumoured to be in production and a live-action on the big screen in the upcoming years is going to be a reward for fans.
