Rezero Season 3 Episode 10

Rezero Season 3 Episode 10 Took 1.5 Years to Complete, Says Director

After a two-month break, Re:Zero Season 3 has returned in full force, with Subaru and his companions navigating the challenges of Priestella, the Watergate City. As fans immerse themselves in the continuation of their favorite series, a surprising yet commendable message has emerged from the anime’s production team.

On Wednesday, February 12, following the broadcast of Rezero Season 3 Episode 10 in Japan, Yasuaki Fujii—who directed and storyboarded the episode—shared an intriguing insight into the production timeline via his X/Twitter account.

According to Fujii, the latest episode (Episode 60 overall) took nearly a year and a half to complete. He explained that the lengthy production process, spanning from the initial storyboarding to final animation, was due to the episode’s intense, battle-heavy sequences.

A production timeline of 1.5 years for a single episode highlights the immense effort and precision required to achieve such high-quality animation. Fortunately, the hard work paid off, as Rezero Season 3 Episode 10 has been widely praised for its stunning visuals and direction.

One of the episode’s animation directors, Haruka Sagawa, also commented on Fujii’s post, expressing admiration for the episode’s intensity and sharing how enjoyable the production process was. Fujii responded with gratitude, noting that “every character looked cool and adorable.”

The Counterattack Arc of Rezero Season 3 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, with new episodes airing every Wednesday. The second half of the season consists of eight episodes, just like the first half, with Studio WHITE FOX handling the animation and Masahiro Shinohara leading the direction.
