Strawhat Luffy’s Devil Fruit Awakening and The Real Identity Of Joy Boy

Published by Gintoki on

One Piece manga is heading towards its climax as the Wano Country arc is getting more exciting with each new chapter release. The manga is currently focusing on the battle between Luffy and Kaido however, things aren’t going how fans expected them to be as it has taken a twisted turn revealing some shocking truths about Luffy’s fruit awakening.

The earliest raw scans of the upcoming One Piece Chapter 1043 titled “We will die together” shows the fans a very surprising theory of Luffy being the Joy Boy. Early spoilers confirm that there was a conversation between Zunisha and Momo. Zunisha says to Momo that he heard the “drums of liberation” after 800 years which he adds further by saying that “Joy Boy has come back”.

But, after that, a very remarkable thing happened to the Strawhat pirates captain. After getting defeated by Kaido once again, Luffy’s body started melting, and the bubble near him said, “Nika”, implying to the Sun God. Now, who is Sun God Nika and what is the meaning behind Luffy’s fruit awakening?

Nika was a legendary, possibly mythical warrior that was once revered as the Sun God by slaves from ancient times. He was first mentioned by Who’s-Who, one of the Tobiroppo, who heard about the legend from a prison guard during his imprisonment by the World Government.

Now, fans are speculating that Sun God Nika and Joy Boy were actually connected to each other. They even show a lot of resemblances including the fact that they both are legendary and could erase one’s sufferings with a tap of a drum. Even the descriptive image of Joy Boy and Nika looks similar.

Moreover, it looks very possible that Zunisha surely was referring to Luffy when he heard the drum of liberation after 800 years ago as except a few people no one can hear the “voice of all things” and apart from Momo, Luffy was the only person present there who can recognize Zunisha’s voice.

And, if it’s really Luffy whom Zunisha was referring to, then it becomes clear that maybe Gomu Gomu no Mi was an alternative name given by the World Government to hide the truth that Luffy actually ate the same devil fruit as Joyboy. And, that’s why the CP unit was tasked to escort the fruit.

Additionally, it again points out one more thing that why Imu commanded the Gorosei to eliminate the “light” because it was known already that Luffy is deemed to be the successor of Joy Boy as he wore the same Strawhat. And, now it is evident that Zunisha was talking about Luffy, meaning that Strawhat pirates captain is the reincarnation of Joy Boy.

When One Piece Chapter 1043 will officially release worldwide on Sunday, March 13th, 2022, fans will get to know more answers about the hidden identity of Joy Boy and his connection to Luffy. Besides, readers will finally be able to see another level up of Strawhat captain as Luffy’s fruit awakening is nearing.
