Kentaro Miura’s “Berserk” has consistently had subpar anime adaptations over the years. With professional animation studios failing to deliver successful versions, a non-profit fan studio has taken it upon themselves to bring Guts’s story to the screen. As a result, the first trailer for the new Berserk anime has finally been released.

On the evening of May 17, Studio Eclypse dropped the first unofficial trailer for their highly anticipated fan anime project “Berserk: The Black Swordsman” on X (formerly known as Twitter) and YouTube. The three-minute-long trailer features the legendary swordsman himself along with Casca, Griffith, and other key characters.

A team of talented and passionate animators and artists is actively involved in the production of the upcoming Berserk anime. The trailer for “Berserk: The Black Swordsman” has received an extremely positive reception so far, and it is slated to premiere in the summer window of 2025.

Studio Eclypse aims to create a proper 2D adaptation of the stories that have been neglected in this medium, starting from the beginning. As stated by the team behind the anime themselves, “This is a fan-made project with the utmost respect to the late Kentaro Miura, Studio Gaga, and Hakusensha.”
