Haikyu!! is a popular sports manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. The story follows Shoyo Hinata, a boy determined to become a great volleyball player despite his small height. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020, with its 402 chapters collected in 45 volumes.

In 2014, Production I.G adapted Haikyu!! manga into an anime television series which aired from April 2014 to September 2014. The series was renewed for a second and third season in 2015 and 2016 respectively. The fourth season was split into two cours, the first cour of 13 episodes aired from January to April 2020, and the second cour of 12 episodes aired from October to December 2020.

Across four seasons, there have been plenty of ups and downs in that journey, with several interesting facts and bits of trivia to accompany them. To fulfill his desire of leaving a mark on the realm of volleyball, Hinata smooths out his differences with Kageyama and later on, the former rivals form a legendary combo in Team Karasuno having Hinata’s mobility and Kageyama’s precision ball-handling. Together, they take on the local tournaments and vow to meet Karasuno’s fated rival school in the Nationals.

As per the early reports related to the storyboard of the new one-shot, Haikyuu special chapter will be about the Nekoma captain, Tetsuro Kuroo. He will embark on a journey to reassemble all his old high school friends for a special match! The one-shot is comprised of a total of 19 pages and the story is described as below:

“Tetsuro Kuroo, who works in the Athletic Promotion Division of the Japan Volleyball Association, plans to organize a special match! He sets out to invite his old high school friends, who are now top players in the world…”

Haikyuu manga series started serialization on Feb 20, 2012, in the Weekly Shonen Jump (WSJ). This year, the series has completed the 10 years and to celebrate it the franchise has revealed a total of 10 major projects. Out of these 10, the makers have revealed only eight and the rest two will be revealed at a later date.

Haikyuu one-shot is one of the ten major projects written by the creator of the series itself. The special one-shot is scheduled to release in the Weekly Shonen Jump issue #21/22 which is set to publish on April 25th. You can read the released chapter from the official website of MangaPlus.

One of the unforgettable and thrilling anime series, Attack On Titan made its debut in 2013 and it became a sensational anime in no time. The way it gained praise and popularity throughout the years is not an easy thing for a new anime.

The way Hajime Isayama portrayed the characters and illustrated the key elements in the series was really fantastic. Binding up suspense, action, thrill, emotion and mystery in a single show is not possible, but Attack On Titan proved it wrong.

In 2019, Polygon named Mob Psycho 100 as one of the most loved anime of the 2010s. Even Crunchyroll and IGN added this series to their best anime list of the 2010s. Mob Psycho was one of the best series of 2016 and it is still the most loved show as well.

Demon Slayer (2019)

2019 can be called the best anime year so far and the biggest show-stealer of this year was Demon Slayer. The series surpassed all the expectations of the fans and showed the Western culture, what a Japanese anime can do.

Ufotable did such a wonderful job on Demon Slayer that no one can imagine. The beauty of the animation in this series is way beyond the word unbelievable. Demon Slayer revolutionized the anime industry and set a benchmark for others which is what we call the “New Generation of Anime”.

The year 2019 was just the beginning for Demon Slayer and it still has a long way to go. Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie was a huge box-office hit and the fans are waiting for the upcoming Demon Slayer Season 2 ‘Entertainment District Arc’ which will be released on December 5.

Vinland Saga (2019)

Vinland Saga was also released in the year 2019 but, it didn’t get much attention at that time because of the massive popularity of Demon Slayer. But, apparently, the show made its way and became favorite of many.

The journey of Thorfinn alongside his enemy Askeladd is portrayed brilliantly in the anime. The development of all the characters throughout the series is a treat to watch.

Jujutsu Kaisen (2020)

When the world was going through a serious pandemic and tough time, then Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen brought a smile to their faces. The series aired in October 2020 amid the pandemic and it went on to become the best anime of that year.

The cheerful & joyous nature of Yuji Itadori and the funny & charming characterization of Gojo Satoru was something fans were missing for a long time. This series gave a reason to anime fans to smile once again.
