The Rising Of The Sheild Hero Season 2 Scheduled For April 6, 2022
One of the best isekai anime series, The Rising of The Shield Hero is confirmed to premiere its second season of the anime television series adaption starting April 6, 2022. The anime was initially slated to release last year in October however, it got postponed due to some production issues.
The broadcasting decision was taken by the makers of the series on Thursday stating that Season 2 will premiere on April 6 on the AT-X channel at 10:00 P.M. (9:00 A.M. EDT). It will also run on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and BS11. Check out the official trailer below.
Masato Jinbo is directing the second season of the series replacing Takao Abo. Keigo Koyanagi is handling the series composition meanwhile, Kevin Penkin is returning to compose the music. MADKID will be performing the opening theme song “Bring Back,” and Chiai Fujikawa will perform the ending theme song “Yuzurenai.”
The series is being produced by Kinema Citrus and Kaito Ishikawa (also voiced Tobio Kageyama from Haikyū!!) is returning as the voice of Naofumi for the second season. The rest of the cast is also the same with one further addition as Kana Hanazawa (also voiced Mitsuri Kanroji from Demon Slayer) will join the cast as Ost Horai.
The Rising Of The Shield Hero premiered its first season in 2019 and ran for a successful 25-episodes. Later in 2019, after its successful run, Crunchyroll announced its next installments by stating that the show will be renewed for a second and third season in the upcoming years.
Rising of The Shield Hero is a light novel adaptation that follows the journey of Naofumi Iwatani, who is summoned into a parallel world to become one of the four Cardinal Heroes, ‘The Shield Hero’. Season 2 will explore the fantasy world of the series more in-depth as at the end we came to know that apart from Naofumi’s world several other dimensions are facing the monster wave attacks.
