Top 10 Anime Characters Who Are Impossible To Kill In Their Own Universe

Published by Gintoki on

Strength and abilities determine the power level of a certain character in anime, some are born with it while some acquire it over the course of time. Both ways lead to an extreme boost in the energy and power of characters however, there are a bunch of anime characters who are impossible to kill because of their overflowing strength aura.

The vast majority of these characters are straight-up impossible to eliminate, often this is because they’re immortal or were merely born indestructible but no matter what the reason is, loss of life is off the charts for these characters. But, not every one of them is the same, there are a few who are so powerful that even the slightest idea of taking their life seems impossible.

And, in today’s article, we’ll take a look at some of the anime characters who are impossible to kill in their own universe. Whatever the situation is, these unkillable characters often question the true value of eternal life and invulnerability. So, without any further ado let’s get started.

10. Ash Ketchum in Pokémon

The world of pokemon is strange and ever-changing. With each new season and expansion of the Pokémon universe, we see Ash Ketchum chasing his goal of becoming the greatest Pokemon Master of all time. When the show began back in 1997, Ash was 10 years old, and several years later, he is still ten years old. Everyone aged in the last two decades except Ash Ketchum.

While many do not understand Ash’s endurance to stay alive against all odds, there have been some fan theories as to why he’s perpetually ten. Some range from coma-induced dreams, while others look at evidence within the series to answer this commonly asked question of why this young trainer doesn’t age. Still, there isn’t a single evidence-based logical explanation.

9. Kei Nagai in ‘Ajin’

Kei Negai was a normal human until a road accident changed his life completely. After being run over by a truck, it was revealed that Kei is an immortal demi-human particularly known as “Ajin”. As an Ajin, it doesn’t matter if his head is chopped off or he gets crushed into a pulp, his body will simply restore itself. Kei can never perish because of acquiring supernatural powers and regenerative abilities.

In addition to his immortality, Kei has the ability to paralyze people with his screams and is capable to create extensions of himself. Just like other Ajin, Kei is also able to create Black Ghosts, a dark form that they can control and can create more ghosts than any other Ajin. However, he lacks control over them still he has shown that he can survive the most dangerous situations.

8. Rimuru Tempest in ‘Tensura’

Before being reincarnated into the fantasy world of Tensura as a slime, Rimuru Tempest was an average guy named Satoru Mikami who worked at a general contracting firm. At first, he was provided with normal abilities like surviving without food & water and regeneration power. But soon he entered the league of anime with an immortal main character.

As soon as Rimuru acquired a mysterious skill “predator”, his new life in the fantasy world began to get exciting. His new skill granted him to absorb the abilities of any being and use them for his own good. With the help of this, he became almost invincible as Rimuru acquired everyone’s skill whom he came across and used those abilities for his own good.

7. Gojo Satoru in ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’

Satoru Gojo, the handsome and stylish guy, is a Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer and a teacher at Jujutsu Tech. In the history of the sorcery world, Gojo is recognized as the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer ever existed and is invincible in terms of strength & power. Simply put, Gojo is one of the few anime characters who are impossible to kill as his enemies hardly get the chance to even touch him.

Gojo acquires a lot of abilities which include limitless cursed energy, infinity, Hollow purple, and unlimited void but the most notable one is his “Six Eyes”. The Six Eyes allows Gojo to utilize his Limitless technique to its fullest extent. By using his eyes to redefine reality, Gojo can distort time and space within the confines of a pocket universe. Gojo wields this godlike power skillfully which makes him an extremely overpowered anime character.

6. Ban in ‘Seven Deadly Sins’

Ban was initially not a part of anime characters who are impossible to kill but after drinking the life elixir he gained the ability to be immortal which means he can’t perish or age, even if he wants to. He gained immortality by coming in contact with the guardian of the Fountain of Youth, Elaine. When demons swoop in, she ends up giving him the water via a kiss to save his life.

Ban’s undying ability serves him well throughout the series as it saves him from multiple execution attempts, including his friends and foes. He also can miraculously heal himself but that doesn’t fill the emptiness in his heart and sometimes he doesn’t feel truly alive, so he seeks out physical agony.

5. Koro-sensei in ‘Assassination Classroom’

Koro-sensei can outclass all the high-tech weapons and machinery with his wide array of superhuman abilities. Although, he has the appearance of an octopus, his regeneration skills, invisibility, poison immunity, and superhuman speed makes him invulnerable. No, he isn’t immortal and has a pretty strict time limit to his life, but slaying him is close to impossible.

Being composed of anti-matter cells, Koro-sensei is capable of wiping out the entire planet if somehow he explodes. One of his most noteworthy abilities is that he can easily move at a speed of over Mach 20 i.e. 15,345 mph. With such an immense speed landing a hit on him is pretty hard even if you have the right devices. Besides his overpowering skills, he is also a great anime mentor.

4. Saitama in ‘One Punch Man’

Carrying the name of the series proudly, Saitama was initially an average human being until he went through intense training which completely transformed him into a superhuman. He doesn’t appear to be strong and isn’t technically immortal, but nothing he’s encountered so far has come anywhere close to bothering him.

Saitama doesn’t require too much hard work to beat someone as all it takes for him to defeat his enemy is, a single punch. So, he’s unlikely to get taken out in the midst of battle, and out of boredom he never uses his full strength. The only things that could possibly slay Saitama are – one mosquito and second stress – both of these components have troubled our hero a lot.

3. Alucard in ‘Hellsing’

Hellsing is a 2000s classic action & vampire-themed anime series praised for its over-the-top viewing experience. Set in an alternate take on modern times, Hellsing features the original vampire Alucard who is close to being eternally alive. When he sucks blood, he sucks out his victims’ souls, which adds substantially to his own lifespan.

Alucard is known for his bloodlust and love for violence. He’s absurdly powerful that only the strongest opponent could even put a dent in him. Supernatural powers are his main weapon but other than that Alucard possesses a variety of abilities like invisibility, blood, and weather manipulation that give him control over his enemies making him the supreme leader of the Hellsing world.

2. Ainz Ooal Gown in ‘Overlord’

Isekai anime with an immortal main character is the most common thing you can come around as a fan of this genre. Overlord is another such “virtual world” anime based on the role-playing game that stars Ainz Ooal Gown alias Momonga, a powerful, guild-leading wizard who can’t be harmed by any physical attacks unless the weapons are actually able to crush his bones.

With his magic at his disposal and mysterious items under his control, Momonga is easily the most powerful character in the game. Unlike other action-packed anime, Overlord showcases Momonga’s unique abilities in the midst of his newfound and often hilariously tedious adventures in the MMORPG.

1. Kars in ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’

Kars is one of the most smartest and powerful characters in the world of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. As the leader of the Pillar Men, he is a great observer and a good strategist who plans his moves by analyzing the opponent very well. He even mastered his godly powers very quickly by utilizing the power of Earth’s fauna and some uncertain materials.

Most opponents find it difficult to even put a scratch on him, as he has abilities that range from manipulating light to accessing the DNA of all living things. After he transforms into the Ultimate Life Form, his IQ is stated to be 400, way more than the most intelligent human. He is the creator of zombies as well and one of the few anime characters who are impossible to kill which means he can’t perish or age.
