Published by Gintoki on

One of the most popular South Korean manhwa, Tower of God written & illustrated by S.I.U. is set to return with its new anime sequel very soon. The most awaited news of Tower of God season 2 is finally here and fans will be delighted to hear it.

Recently, a key animator & director, Yoshihiro Takeda confirmed the fact that Tower of God Season 2 is in production and the official news can be shared anytime with the fans. In a response to a Twitter user, he admitted this fact and shared his views on the production.

For your information, Takeda-san was affiliated with Telecom Animation Film (Production Studio of TOG) until last year. Furthermore, Telecom will not animate the second season of Nagatoro which is a clear sign of Tower of God Season 2 being in production. The staff is most likely to be the same as it was in the first season.

Due to a lot of media attention and unstoppable questions from the fans about the production, Takeda-san deleted the tweet to avoid any further complications. So, unfortunately, the tweet is not available on his Twitter account (@animetatakeda) anymore.

Last year Crunchyroll licensed the webtoon of Tower of God and premiered the first season, consisting of 13 episodes, on its official platform. The series received a lot of praise for its stunning visuals, in-depth storyline and world-building.

But, after the end of Season 1, no updates came from the author or Crunchyroll regarding the future of the anime series. Even the author took a long break from the series, but now he’s also back from hiatus and so did the hopes of Tower of God Season 2.

As of now, Crunchyroll hasn’t made it official and it can take a little bit more time. However, the assuring thing is the sequel of Tower of God is in production and we can expect some good news from the officials soon regarding the release date & trailer.

If this ends up being true and confirmed by Crunchyroll, I’d be so happy! I was losing my hope of ToG getting a season 2.
