Trigun Anime Returns After 25 Years With A New Sequel In 2023!
The hit 90s anime series, Trigun is set to make a return next year as the franchise has decided to give a reboot to the series. After 25 years of the first anime television series broadcast, the classic action series by Yasuhiro Nightow will be reborn in a brand new Trigun anime in 2023 from Studio Orange (Beastars, Land of the Lustrous) titled Trigun Stampede!
On Friday, Japanese animation studio Orange which specializes in the production of 3DCG animation announced that Vash the Stampede will make a return next year with a brand new Trigun anime series titled “Trigun Stampede”. The new sequel will be produced by Studio Orange and it will be an original anime series. Check out the official announcement below:
Currently set to be produced by Studio Orange, the series will stream on Crunchyroll next year. The staff and cast for the upcoming anime will be different from the first anime television series produced by Madhouse. Details about the story of this new Trigun anime are still under wraps, this year’s Anime Expo is slated to have more information regarding the return of the man with the $60 Billion Double Dollar bounty on his head.
Set on the fictional planet known as No Man’s Land, the plot follows Vash the Stampede, a famous gunman who is constantly fighting bounty hunters seeking to obtain the immense bounty on his head. Trigun was adapted into a 26-episode anime television series by Madhouse which aired in 1998. An anime feature film, Trigun: Badlands Rumble, premiered in Japan in April 2010.
More details on Trigun Stampede will be revealed at the series panel happening at Anime Expo 2022, where series creator Yasuhiro Nightow, Kouji Tajima (designer), Kiyotaka Waki (producer at Orange), Yoshihiro Watanabe (producer at Orange) and Katsuhiro Takei (producer at Toho) will be in attendance. The panel itself will take place on July 3rd as a part of “Orange Presents: Studio Panel” to promote the long-awaited return of Vash the Stampede.
