Vinland Saga Season 2 Scheduled For January 2023! Official Trailer Released
The fan favourite anime series Vinland Saga has once again set foot in the community with a confirmed second season to be broadcasted lately in the years ahead. Good news for fans is that the makers of the series have just in announced Vinland Saga Season 2 release date. A brand new trailer and a key visual featuring the entire cast of the upcoming series has also been revealed.
On Wednesday, the franchise of Vinland Saga organized a live event titled “Beyond the Prologue” on their official YouTube channel. A big announcement was made during the event which finally confirmed that Studio MAPPA will take over the project of Vinland Saga. Furthermore, the officials unveiled the new key visual and also, confirmed the Vinland Saga Season 2 release date which is January 2023.

In July 2021, the anime debut of Vinland Saga marked two years and on this occasion, the makers of the series released a short clip from the first season on YouTube which confirmed the production of Vinland Saga Season 2. Since then fans have been waiting for the return of the series and here it is with a brand new trailer featuring the entire cast and the main protagonist, Thorfinn in a new avatar.
Studio MAPPA has taken over as the animation production of Vinland Saga Season 2 after, the sudden exit of WIT Studio. The notable thing is that the main staff of the second season is the same as it was in the first season. Shūhei Yabuta will serve as the director meanwhile, Takahiko Abiru will be in charge of the character design. Check out the official trailer of Vinland Saga Season 2 below:
Synopsis
Vinland Saga is a historical manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura. The story combines a dramatization of King Cnut the Great’s historical rise to power with a revenge plot centered on the historical explorer Thorfinn, the son of a murdered ex-warrior who serves under a group of mercenaries responsible for the deed; the story progresses through several story arcs beyond this, eventually culminating in an expedition to Vinland.
A 24-episode anime television series adaptation by WIT Studio from July to December 2019. A second season is also in production and the release date of Vinland Saga Season 2 is confirmed to be January 2023.
