Chainsaw Man is right around the corner to premiere the anime adaptation of its popular manga series written by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The dark and thrilling narrative of the series has made it so successful in the community so far. In addition, the wide array of powerful and strongest characters in Chainsaw Man make it a complete package of entertainment for the audience.

The manga debuted in 2018 and since then the series has taken the internet by storm. All the dedicated fans around the world are waiting anxiously for the anime adaptation which is scheduled to release in October 2022. The all-out violence and non-stop action combined with the strong cast of Chainsaw Man make it stand out from the typical shōnen series.

10. Aki Hayakawa

In a female dominant cast of Chainsaw Man, Aki is one of the few handsome pals with great fighting skills and abilities to start with. Although, he doesn’t engage that much in a real fight still he’s very powerful in terms of other factors. In exchange for his physical inferiority, Aki has made contracts with three prominent devils – Fox, Curse, and Future Devil.

All three devils come very handy during the fights. While Curse Devil grants him the ability to summon a sword that can inflict massive damage on the opponent, Future Devil lets him see a few seconds into the future. Lastly, the Fox Devil devours the opponents once it’s summoned. But, using these powers means taking a toll on his body including short life expectancy.

9. Kishibe

Kishibe is probably in his 40s or 50s but is totally like “don’t judge a book by its cover!” Indeed he looks like an old man, but he’s by far the strongest Devil Hunter recognized by the likes of Makima. When it comes to physical abilities, there’s no match for Kishibe. Being very proficient in the use of knives, he kills the devils in the most brutal way possible.

He is an extremely strong opponent with superhuman reflexes and is also an expert in hand-to-hand combat. Due to his extraordinary strength and sharp skills, he often undertakes his work with calm formality, showing little emotion in doing so. Years of experience in killing the devils have eventually made Kishibe one of the strongest characters in Chainsaw Man.

8. Hell Devil

You might be wondering what is Hell Devil doing here! Well, your logic is quite genuine as this character has only a few panels in the manga series. But, it’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality and Hell Devil is strong enough to make his way to the list of the most powerful characters in Chainsaw Man.

Hell Devil is a devil who embodies the fear of hell and takes the form of a flaming centaur with a featureless head. While the devil itself is not very persuasive, it has a truly terrifying ability as it can manifest as a giant six-fingered hand that takes the targets to hell. The mere idea of being in hell is terrifying as it simply means, be prepared to meet some vicious devils out there.

7. Reze

Reze is a charming and beautiful girl who draws attention very easily, though it’s just her way of deceiving others. Professionally, Reze is a trained secret agent of the Soviet Union and also the wielder of the Bomb Devil. She has a great deal of physical strength and is far more skilled than Katana Devil, and even the Chainsaw Devil.

In her hybrid form, Reze can detonate her own skin from her arms to make explosions and enhance her physical attacks. She becomes dramatically more durable in this form, as she can withstand a full-power kick without taking any damage. Reze can also create decoys that can explode on their own, making her a tricky opponent and one of the strongest characters in Chainsaw Man.

6. Quanxi

Quanxi, as you all know, is a girl of her own choices as she prefers ladies over gentlemen. Her harem club consists of four other women with whom she spends most of her time (in bed). But, don’t even think of taking her lightly! Despite only appearing in one arc, Quanxi demonstrated very well how strong she is when it comes to close combats.

Quanxi possesses a level of strength that has been described by Hirofumi Yoshida as beyond human ability. When she wields swords, she can cut through an entire crowd of enemies without slowing down. She is arguably the only one who can rival Kishibe, or maybe surpass him. Despite having such an incredible feat, Quanxi only uses her power whenever she gets a job.

5. Santa Claus

Santa Claus originally belongs to Germany and has quite a reputation. When Fujimoto decided to portray Santa Claus in a feminine role, he was right all along! She is one hell of a cute and evil person at the same time. Santa Claus plays a major antagonist in International Assassin Arc who is considered to be one of the most dangerous villains in the series.

By far in the series, Santa Claus has the higher number of contracts with devils (four to be exact). The first one is the Curse Devil, then the Doll Devil who is capable of creating dolls and attacking her opponents with them. Third with the Hell Devil and finally with the mightiest devil of them all, the Darkness Devil.

4. Makima

The soul of the franchise and the inventor of the “Woof Woof” gang, Makima is a key member of the Public Safety Devil Hunter Association. In terms of abilities, Makima is the possessor of Control Devil and her powers allow her to control others she deems inferior to herself. This ability extends to other Devils, and she can use their powers by connecting them to her through chains.

In addition to it, Makima’s Force Manipulation technique allows her to control invisible forces to crush or outright destroy people just by looking or pointing at them. 3. Gun Devil

The Gun Devil exists as one of the greatest devils known and is very powerful in terms of abilities. The Gun Devil’s powers allow it to target any living thing within a certain range with perfect accuracy, which allows him to level populations in mere moments. Having a metallic body makes it more durable and fast, and it is hard for others to catch its sight.

Based primarily on the fear of guns, the Gun Devil struck fear in the hearts of people all over the world when it killed over 57,000 people in Japan in just 5 seconds. It hit several other countries in succession eventually leading to a death toll of around 1.2 million lives in only 5 minutes. Even as a Fiend, the Gun Devil remains immensely powerful, although it is not as effective in human form.

2. Denji

Finally, it’s time to introduce the main protagonist of the series and the inheritor of Chainsaw Devil, Denji. His life was kind of miserable before making the contract with Pochita which eventually made him one of the most powerful Devil Hunters and Chainsaw Man characters out there. Although, Denji’s devil looks kind of cute still it provides him with some of the finest abilities.

With chainsaws popping out from different parts of the body, Denji becomes a ruthless cutting machine in his devil form. Besides, the Chainsaw Devil also has a very unique power – devils it kills can never reincarnate and are forgotten forever. Due to this ability alone, Denji is the target of many devils however, he eventually comes out of the problems because of his mutual bond with the Chainsaw Devil.

1. Darkness Devil

Darkness Devil is a primal devil and the most terrifying being in the Chainsaw Man series. As a representation of the fear of darkness, the Darkness Devil is incomparably so powerful that even Makima cannot defeat it. Its whole body is made up of nothing but several human corpses and its source of power is the fear of darkness residing in humans.

The Darkness Devil possesses extreme speed and strength, as it can dismember and kill multiple people in an instant. It can make people bleed to death by merely staring at them and can also inflict damage on his victims by using several chants to brutally obliterate their bodies. The Black Sword is Darkness Devil’s most dangerous weapon as it can eliminate enemies in just a blink of an eye.
