Haikyuu Announced 10 Major Projects On Its 10th Anniversary
In the latest edition of Weekly Shonen Jump (WSJ), Haikyuu has revealed some special projects to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the manga serialization. The author of the series, Haruichi Furudate also drew a one-shot for the fans as well. Let’s take a look at all the projects announced.
On Feb 20, 2012, Haikyuu started serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump and today, on the completion of 10 years the franchise has revealed some major projects related to the future of the series. In the WSJ issue #12, Haikyuu announced 8 of its 10 promised major projects. All the announcements are listed below:
Project #1
On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary, Haruichi Furudate will illustrate the characters of Haikyuu (2022 Ver.) one after another! The first three characters are Kenma, Kuro, and Oikawa Look forward to the completed version as additional visuals will be released later.
Project #2
Haikyuu Exhibition FINAL will be held in Tokyo, this will serve as the final exhibition of Haikyū!! to commemorate the completion of the series! The exhibition will be held from February 16th – March 11th, 2022.
Project #3
A new radio web drama titled “Karasuno High School Broadcasting Club” will be written by Haruichi Furudate! It will be a short drama that captures the daily lives of the “Haikyū!!” characters. The broadcasting will begin on February 28th!
Project #4
A new “Haikyū!! x V. League Special Collaboration Match” has been announced for August 2022! The match will be held in front of a live audience and will be streamed online on the Japanese network. It will also feature a key visual drawn by Haruichi Furudate.
Project #5
Furudate-sensei will draw a new Haikyū!! one-shot in Weekly Shonen Jump which will be a special story featuring Hinata and his friends in the year 2022. As per sources, the one-shot will be published in a future issue of WSJ.
Project #6
A special memorial book celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Haikyū!! will be produced in near future. This will be an ultimate book that will look back on the history of “Haikyū!!” from the start of its serialization in 2012!
Project #7
New LINE stickers drawn by Haruichi Furudate will be produced for the first time. In addition, new LINE stickers are drawn by Retsu (Let’s Haikyū!!) and Kyohei Miyajima (Haikyu-bu!!) will also be produced.
Project #8
A digital full-color version and a remix version of the Haikyū!! the manga will be released this year. Digital full-color volumes will be released monthly starting April 4th 2022 and Jump Remix volumes starting March 11th 2022.
Project #9-10
Projects #9 and #10 are not disclosed yet but, there are high chances that one of these will be an anime announcement which will be revealed to the fans on a later date. Notably, the two numbers also signify the jersey number of Kageyama (9) and Hinata (10). So, keep your hopes up something wonderful is coming very soon!
Sadly, there is no news about the Haikyuu Season 5 in the latest Weekly Shonen Jump issue. However, there are still two more projects left which are kept hidden for a while and will be revealed at a later date. So, there is still hope left for the fans.
