With a user rating of 8.52/10, Attack On Titan now stands at the top in the ‘Most Popular’ category in MAL. Before that, the number one position was held by the well-known crime & mystery series, Death Note. The popularity of a series on MAL is generally based on the fact that how many users added that specific series to their list.
For Attack On Titan, this number counts to 3,264,436 while for Death Note the tally stands at 3,262,104 users. Both the anime are pretty close to each other. The shift in the rankings is also because of the ongoing final season of the Attack On Titan franchise which is turning into a blockbuster.
