One of the biggest modern hits of Shonen Jump+, Kaiju No. 8 has been knocking on the doors of anime enthusiasts for over a year, and the wait is finally over. The first episode of the anime has finally arrived on Crunchyroll and the burning question on every viewer’s mind is: where to watch Kaiju No. 8 Episode 1?
Based on Naoya Matsumoto’s original manga series, Kaiju No. 8 anime television series will kick off the journey of Kafka Hibino who gains the ability to turn into kaiju and now must navigate using his power while trying to become part of an organization that eliminates kaiju to fulfill a promise he made with a childhood friend.

For the first time, Kaiju No. 8 Episode 1 was live-streamed on X (formerly known as Twitter) at the same time as its airing in Japan. The episode, titled “The Man Who Became a Kaiju”, is now available on Crunchyroll for viewers in over 200 countries worldwide. Currently, the streaming platform is offering a free premium trial for new users.
Dubs for the series will also be produced in English, Latin American Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Castilian Spanish, and Russian. Crunchyroll and Netflix (in certain regions) will exclusively simulcast the series on their streaming platform with sub and dub versions for the anime releasing simultaneously.
Kaiju No. 8 Episode 1 Staff Details
A team comprised of industry veterans is actively working on the Kaiju No. 8 anime adaptation. The series is being produced at Production I.G. (known for “Haikyu!” and “Psycho-Pass”) with Shigeyuki Miya helming the project as the director and Ichiro Okouchi as the scriptwriter of the series.
Kaiju designs are done by Studio Khara meanwhile, Tetsuya Nishio is in charge of the character designs. English singer YOUNGBLUD performs the opening theme song “Abyss” while American rock band OneRepublic performs the ending theme “Nobody” for the anime.

The dynamic voice-acting cast of Kaiju No. 8 Episode 1 includes some famous seiyuu profiles, including Masaya Fukunishi (as Kafka Hibino), Wataru Katoh (as Reno Ichikawa), and Asami Seto (as Mina Ashiro).
