To compensate for having no magic, since childhood Asta has intensely trained his body to have incredible physical strength. And, all his training paid off after the time-skip. After six months of training in the Heart Kingdom, Asta came back with a more muscular physique.

His revealing outfit finally allowed his toned muscles and abs to be on full display. And, his muscle gains are sure way impressive for anyone. The guy who used to be a crybaby and weakling came back more powerful than ever. Although he might look similar to the untrained eye, but Asta surely went through a massive transformation.

9. Kae Serinuma – Kiss Him, Not Me!

If you’ve to choose anime characters with major glow-up, then Kae Serinuma should be the first name in your mind. When the series started, Kae was a chubby, fat girl with tiny eyes and no sense of clothes. Her hair looked dull, used to wear unflattering glasses, and was totally against the idea of wearing makeup. But, after a sudden incident, Kae dropped such a scary amount of weight that it was impossible to identify her.

She lost this weight not at the gym, but in her room, as she was crying over the death of an anime character. For a week, she didn’t eat anything which resulted in shedding a lot of weight. This not only made her thin, but also encouraged her to dress differently, and made her eyes appear luminous and beautiful. She came out of the whole ordeal looking like an angel.

8. Giorno Giovanna – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

Giorno Giovanna is a charming & confident person but, he was not always like that. Giorno’s childhood was filled with unhappiness and loneliness due to bullies and the abuse by his stepfather. During his early childhood, he was initially cold and uncaring towards anyone and believed himself to be scum just for the way people treated him. For your information, Giorno’s initial name was Haruno which he changed later.

But, his twisted personality changed when he befriended an injured gangster he saved. From this unknown man, he learned to trust people. He turned out to be a great man with unfaltering resolve. He became a more confident and solicitous person willing to give his everything for the sake of his ambitions. Maybe his glow-up is also a result of Dio’s blood running through him.

7. Masamune Makabe – Masamune-kun’s Revenge

The theme of Masamune-kun’s Revenge is actually “anime characters with major glow-up” as the whole point of the series is to make Masamune’s transformation epic and mind-blowing. It’s all about Masamune and his grand plan to get revenge on a girl that called him piggy when he was little. After Aki Adagaki publically humiliates him when he confesses his love to her, Masamune decides that he’s going to get revenge.

That revenge comes in the form of losing a ton of weight, buying cool clothes, and overall changing his whole look so that he could one day seduce that very same woman, and then reject her, completing the circle of pain. Although he’s depicted as better looking than before, the series implies how hard it was for him to lose weight, an unusual take in a medium that often depicts weight loss as magic or instantaneous.

6. Shinichi Izumi – Parasyte: The Maxim

Shinichi Izumi was an average-looking teenager who appeared to be a boring person. But, after his interaction with an alien parasite named Migi, his physical outlook improves drastically. He becomes significantly stronger, his posture improves, his muscles grow, and overall appears to be a far more confident and powerful person.

After just a couple of episodes, he removes his glasses, since he no longer needs them. His beautiful likeness left many fans wondering whether he was a boy or a girl. But, after becoming the king, Canute cuts his hair short and grows some facial hair.

Although initially timid, weak and always hiding behind Ragnar, Canute later begins to stick up for himself. He develops a more commanding and demanding personality. His glow-up will be more in focus once Vinland Saga Season 2 anime drops.

4. Simon – Gurren Lagann

Gurren Lagann is one of the few anime which don’t shy to fast forward the plot line of the series. Just after the 16th episode, the anime featured a huge time skip which eventually gave enough time for the 14-year-old series protagonist, Simon to grow up. After the 7-year time skip, he came out to be a self-assured, mature and gorgeous young lad.

Adult Simon is what every small child aspires to be once they grew older. Considering that he was a little runt when the series started, no one could have guessed that he would grow into this tall, handsome, badass leader by the end. Furthermore, the fashion tips from Karma helped him a lot in elevating his glow up. Plus having the confidence to back up all that hotness makes him an even better overall package.

3. Koby – One Piece

One Piece is arguably filled with some of the best anime characters with major glow-up and Koby is one among them. When Koby was first introduced, he was a small, timid, chubby boy with pink hair and round-frame glasses. He was such a coward that he used to work involuntarily for Alvida Pirates. But, thanks to Luffy, Koby’s life changed completely and he’s now a Marine Captain.

Though, it wasn’t so easy for Koby to become a Marine captain as he trained really hard together with Helmeppo under Vice-Admiral Garp’s supervision. Due to the passage of time and Garp’s training, Koby gained muscles and grew taller, standing close to Luffy in height. His rank in the Marine pretty much describes the potential & strength he possesses and in future, he can turn out to be a big threat to the future King of the Pirates, Luffy.

2. Ken Kaneki – Tokyo Ghoul

What a romantic date with a girl can do to you? Probably, can transform you from a nerd geek to an immaculately handsome pal. He started off as an average-looking high school student, but eventually grew into a young adult.

By the time he hit 21, he seemed like a completely different person, physically and mentally. He went from a simp to a hot and handsome man that would make all the girls rejoice at the sight of his face. Upon adopting his ghoulish side and putting on blackish white hair color, his appearance changed drastically and so did his physical strength.

1. Eren Yeager – Attack On Titan

The fourth season of Attack On Titan is outstanding in many aspects and the glow-up of Eren is one of them. The innocent kid who used to be uncertain and emotional all the time, not only became the cynical badass of the series, but he also came back looking fresh as hell. Fangirls used to be crazy about Levi prior to Season 4, but now they only chant about the hotness of Eren.

Soulful eyes, long mahogany-colored hair tied in a man bun at times, and signs of a mustache; were the facial features of the time skip Eren. It was totally a major charisma reset and a major handsome transformation from his previous weak, childish, small boy look. After all, the guy with the mission of conquering the whole world should look like a leader as well and Eren took it seriously.
