As he spends more time with her, Yōta begins to uncover more secrets about her life and how she became a “god”.

9. How Not To Summon A Demon Lord – Takuma Sakamoto (Demon Lord Diablo)

Takuma Sakamoto is a NEET gamer who is mysteriously transported to the virtual world of his favorite role-playing game, Cross Reverie, with the appearance of his own character in the game, the Demon Lord Diablo. The two young girls (Rem & Shera) who summons him attempt to use a spell to make Takuma their servant, but due to his magic ring with the ability “Magic Reflection” both end up becoming his servants instead.

With a serious case of social anxiety, Takuma decides to act like his character while interacting with others and makes use of his high stats and vast knowledge of Cross Reverie’s lore to survive in his new environment, traveling along with Rem and Shera to look for a way to remove their slave collars, while helping them with their own personal issues that led them to summon him in the first place.

8. Platinum End – Mirai Kakehashi (God Candidate)

From the creators of Death Note, Platinum End is another thrilling story that doesn’t feature a god necessarily but through the process makes a certain character a god-like being. Mirai Kakehashi, a college student tries to attempt suicide after being traumatized by his foster parents. But, a guardian angel, Nasse rescues him and bestows upon him some special powers.

This is only the beginning of Mirai’s story as Nasse soon informs him that God will retire in 999 days and thirteen candidates to replace him were selected, one of which is Mirai. Now, all the candidates put their best effort to take the oath of God however, they must also survive in the process as everything is fair in this game of becoming the supreme leader.

7. Devil Is A Part-Timer – Sadao Maō (Demon King Satan)

Devil is a Part-Timer! is a fantasy-comedy anime series based on a light novel that follows the life of Demon King Satan, who dreams of conquering the world of Ente Isla. However, after being defeated by the hero Emilia, Satan and his generals escape Ente Isla and enter into modern Tokyo city through a mysterious gate.

Being trapped in the human realm without any of his demonic powers, Satan takes over the identity of Sadao Maō and works in a fast-food restaurant along with his generals who serve as his houseman. But, one day Satan meets a girl who is actually Emilia in the form of Emi Yusa. The story then unfolds and explores the personalities of each of the characters and their moral values.

6. Cautious Hero – Ristarte (Goddess)

A novice goddess named Ristarte is placed in charge of saving the world of Gaeabrande from a Demon Lord by summoning a human hero. In an S-class world, Gaeabrande is extremely dangerous, so Ristarte is careful to select a hero who will be able to prevail against the enemies. After a lot of searching, she finally settles on Seiya Ryuuguuin, whose stats seems many times greater than any other contender.

However, upon summoning him, Ristarte finds to her dismay that Seiya is ridiculously cautious of everything, including her. Refusing to even enter Gaeabrande’s safest areas until he has trained to a level that he is comfortable with, Seiya’s introversion drives the goddess crazy. However, when the pair finally do set foot on Gaeabrande, events may prove this hero’s caution is well justified.

5. Seven Deadly Sins – Meliodas (Son Of Demon King)

The Seven Deadly Sins is an entertaining fantasy shōnen anime series that features a setting similar to the European Middle Ages, with its titular group of knights representing the seven deadly sins. The plot & character development is pretty smooth in the series with a bonus of hilarious acts. And, in a similar way, it’s one of the few known anime where main character is a god or demon king.

The protagonist, Meliodas is the son of the Demon King and also the Sin of Wrath who leads the strong group of “Seven Deadly Sins”. He looks cute and is short but in his demon form, Meliodas beholds the power to destroy an entire kingdom by himself and the Kingdom of Danafor is proof of it. Besides, Meliodas is immortal as well which makes him the supreme being of the franchise.

4. Misfit Of Demon King Academy – Anos Voldigoad (Demon King Of Tyranny)

Anos Voldigoad is the main protagonist of the fantasy anime series “The Misfit of Demon King Academy”. Just like any other series, magical cast & spells are the core part of this show with the addition of an unconventionally supreme mage as its protagonist. During the Mythical Age, he was infamously known as the Demon King of Tyranny, for his immense power and cruelty towards his enemies.

Anos is history’s strongest demon king who starts his life as a student once again after getting reincarnated. Being the Almighty Demon King, Anos has an array of magical abilities in his arsenal that even the strongest ones fear of him. His powers range from resurrection magic to teleportation magic and beating him by his own created methods is almost impossible.

3. Overlord – Momonga (Guild Wizard)

Coming from one of the most recognized anime studios in the industry, MAPPA adapted this South Korean webtoon in 2020 which hooked the fans to the series for its top-notch fight scenes. The series features a gathering of the strongest individuals from South Korea possessing wild abilities via their Charyeok, and Mori Jin has all that physical strength to back this up in the biggest martial arts tournament.

Mori Jin was introduced as an arrogant, carefree child obsessed with fighting. However, later on, his true identity was revealed to be that of the great God Sun Wukong (The Monkey King), the leader of Mount Hwagwa Monkey and one of the Nine Kings of the Sage Realm. Evidently, he cannot be defeated by human beings and to truly defeat him, another Demon or God would be required.

1. Noragami – Yato (Delivery God)

Yato, originally called Yaboku, serves as the main protagonist of the anime series Noragami, and the ‘stray god’ of the title. He is a self-proclaimed “Delivery God,” who dreams of having millions of worshippers however, don’t have a single shrine dedicated to his name. To achieve this, he spends his days doing odd jobs for five yen apiece, until his weapon partner becomes fed up with her useless master and deserts him.

Just as things seem to be looking grim for the god, his fortune changes when a middle school girl, Hiyori Iki, supposedly saves Yato from a car accident. Remarkably, she survives, but the incident causes her soul to frequently slip out of her body. With Yato’s help, Hiyori goes through many adventures to fix her body meanwhile struggling with their friendship, identity, and pasts.
