Disastrous Life of Saiki K is about a high school student, Saiki who’s born with some astonishing psychic powers. From telekinesis to clairvoyance, Saiki possesses every type of ability that is far away from a normal person. In the list of characters with the highest IQ, Saiki ranks very high.

But, other than Saiki all his friends are also far away from normal. Rather than being typical students, they each have unique ambitions that are so hilarious to watch that you can’t resist. Looking at Nendo only will burst you into laughter.

Even Saiki’s parents take advantage of his psychic powers to do household chores and in all this hustle Saiki tries to fit himself. Every time a new character is introduced, the series becomes more interesting and as a fan of comedy anime, you should not miss this show.

12. Sword Art Online (SAO)

Sword Art Online, also called SAO in short, is a web novel series written by Reki Kawahara. SAO is massively popular among its fans and its several anime sequels, light novel and video game adaptations are available in the global market.

The series takes place in the near future and focuses on protagonists Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki as they play through various virtual reality MMORPG worlds to beat the game and free all the minds trapped in Aincard.

Plot build-up and game-like features in SAO are well-suited for the audience of Arcane. Moreover, the visuals are also mind-blowing comparable to LoL and having a big catalogue of different sequels will not leave you being bored.

11. Spirited Away

Half of the movies listed in this section are created by popular Japanese director, Hayao Miyazaki and Spirited Away is another one among them. It was the highest-grossing anime movie of all time until Demon Slayer: Mugen Train dethroned it from the top spot.

Miyazaki wrote the screenplay of Spirited Away in the 2000s and launched it on the big screen after its completion. The response from the movie was unbelievable as it grossed more than US $395 million and won an Oscar in succession as well becoming the first anime film to do so.

Saitama, the main protagonist of this series, desires to fight a worthy opponent but every time he’s unable to do so as all his opponents get defeated by a single punch. He joins a hero agency as well and tags along with another hero, Genoa who considers him as his teacher.

Black Clover is a popular manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. An anime television series was premiered in 2017 produced by Studio Pierrot. And, recently a movie adaptation has also been announced by the makers.

The anime is set in a magical world and follows Asta, a young boy born without any magic power. This is unknown to the world he lives in because seemingly everyone has some sort of magic power. With his fellow mages from the Black Bulls, Asta plans to become the next Wizard King.

4. Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen is the most popular manga series currently which is breaking the records every week and stands top on the tally of most manga sales in 2021. Half of its credit goes to MAPPA for adapting this series into an anime.

Last year, in October, MAPPA took the project of Jujutsu Kaisen and it surpassed the expectations of the fans by providing the fans with a brilliant piece of work. They made the anime viral and as a result the manga also experienced a jump in its sales chart.

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the sorcery world and follows the story of Yuji Itadori who accidentally eats the finger of the most vicious cursed spirit, Ryomen Sukuna. After this incident, he is transferred to Jujutsu Tech where he learns the techniques of sorcery under the guidance of invincible Gojo Satoru.

3. My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is one of the most popular New Gen anime and is well-known for its enthusiastic soundtrack & good fight sequences. The series premiered in 2016 and till now, the franchise has released 5 seasons and 3 movies.

The fantasy world of My Hero Academia is filled with superheroes where 80% of the population acquires supernatural power called ‘Quirk’. Unfortunately, Izuku Midoriya, a normal kid is born without such powers but, he still dreams of becoming a superhero himself.

However, he is scouted by All Might, Japan’s greatest hero, who chooses Midoriya as his successor and shares his Quirk with him after recognizing his potential, and later helps to enroll him in a prestigious high school for heroes in training.

2. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

2019 can be called the best anime year so far and the biggest show-stealer of this year was Demon Slayer. The series surpassed all the expectations of the fans and showed the Western culture, what a Japanese anime can do.

Ufotable did such a wonderful job on Demon Slayer that no one can imagine. The beauty of the animation in this series is way beyond the word unbelievable. Demon Slayer revolutionized the anime industry and set a benchmark for others which is what we call the “New Generation of Anime”.
